Our weeklong multi-sport expedition camp lets 7th – 8th graders of all levels explore the diverse and dramatic landscape of Curt Gowdy State Park in Wyoming, taking on a range of adventure sports by day and camping under the stars by night. Located 24 miles West of Cheyenne, Curt Gowdy sits at the foothills of the Laramie Mountains, a gorgeous mix of lush meadows, low hills and striking granite crags.
After setting up a campsite that will serve as their home base for the week, campers (no more than 13 to a group) discover what the MULTI in multi-sport program really means. Namely, embarking on a different adventure every day—biking the park’s extensive trails one day, climbing at world famous Vedauwoo, plus hiking, standup paddleboarding, white water rafting and archery—all the while building technical skills and fostering a deeper appreciation for the outdoors.
From cooking on camp stoves to sleeping in tents, navigating a SUP to negotiating tough terrain, expedition campers learn to meet countless challenges with intelligence and poise. It’s a confidence-building, life-changing experience that gives them the skills and independence they need for a lifetime of adventure.
