Our weeklong expedition camp is designed for campers with mountain biking experience* ready to build their skills and explore beautiful trails as they bike every day and camp under the stars every night.
In a group of no more than 13 campers and two experienced instructors, campers will take to their bikes to explore area trails. They’ll hone their technical and trail riding skills like bunny hops, cornering, and track stands as they enjoy up to six hours of biking a day, plus learn bike maintenance and camping fundamentals.
Along with several days of biking, campers will also get the opportunity to work on their teambuilding skills with a day of whitewater rafting while enjoying Class I-III rapids.
After a week of epic biking and tent camping in authentic, awe-inspiring settings, expedition mountain biking campers come away transformed into skilled, self-assured trail shredders.
Their adventure home base is Curt Gowdy State Park in Wyoming, 24 miles west of Cheyenne and known for its gorgeous meadows, dramatic granite formations and miles and miles of bike trails. They’ll also spend one very fun day off the trail rafting the Cache la Poudre River.
* Participants must have some experience biking on single-track dirt trails and uneven rocky terrain. Campers will likely be divided up by experience level during rides. We strongly encourage campers to bring their own fully tuned, well-fitted mountain bikes to increase their comfort level. If they don’t have a bike or bring one that isn’t trail-ready, they can rent from our fleet for a $50 fee.
