In order to register for this program, campers MUST be able to bike confidently without training wheels on a dirt surface. THE WEEK’S ADVENTURES

Bike Park Riding

Technical Skills

Bike Maintenance

After an initial skill evaluation, we team campers up with other riders at their level so they’re well supported as they take on bike park features including pump tracks, dirt jumps, dual slalom, slope style and single track cross country trails, practicing good trail etiquette as they ride.

Through riding different features of the park, campers get comfortable with a range of biking skills, including body positioning, falling techniques, cornering mechanics, aerial maneuvers and maintaining momentum on rocks and sand.

We introduce campers to the practices of basic bicycle repair and maintenance, also teaching them to safety check their bikes, gears and tires.

Camp Value

Why Sign Up For Multiple Sessions?

Based on our experience (and a bunch of brain science), we know that multiple sessions of Avid camp will benefit your child – it will result in greater skill development, increased self-confidence, higher levels of risk assessment/environmental awareness, and an improved ability to connect socially with others and make new friends.

WE TAKE SAFETY SERIOUSLY

While no outdoor adventure is totally risk-free, we work hard to keep your kids safe. Every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved -- what they are, how to prevent them, how to respond if something goes wrong -- so kids learn how to approach challenges with intelligence and skill.

OUR APPROACH TO SAFETY
