COVID-19 Update on Valmont Bike Park Camp
Valmont Bike Park is a unique camp: Groups are already small, and there is no need for group transportation in enclosed vans. Thus, we remain hopeful to run VBP with a delayed start date of June 8, 2020, and with the addition of more stringent health screening for staff and campers, and higher levels of hygiene during the camp day.
Campers in our Valmont Bike Park Camp and girls in our Girls Shred Camp experience a biking adventure like no other, tackling the trails, jumps and features of Boulder’s world-renowned Valmont Bike Park. Throughout the week, campers roam the park on two wheels, taking on increasingly challenging activities and exploring exciting new terrain.
Grouped by skill level and mentored by our experienced instructors, campers learn the basics of bike park free riding before mastering more advanced skills. The park’s variety of challenges provides plenty of opportunities for bikers of all levels to build their technical abilities, while keeping even the most avid riders on their toes.
Safety is our first priority. While risk is inherent in all outdoor activities, we pride ourselves on teaching campers to assess situations, use sound judgment and make good decisions as they take appropriate risks. Please note that Valmont Bike Park programs involve a higher level of risk due to the terrain and skills taught. We mitigate these risks by grouping kids and teens by experience level, requiring protective equipment, providing environmental briefings, practicing falling techniques, and challenge by choice across all elements. Valmont Bike Park Camp campers should be confident riding on two wheels (without training wheels). Campers who aren’t yet riding a two-wheeler or are just starting out should consider our Adventure Camp.
