Path2 Overnights Colorado - 4th-5th and 5th-6th Grade - Path2 Overnights Camp

Path2 Overnights is a unique hybrid program that blends the best of our traditional day camps with the immersive experience of our overnight adventures.

Designed for campers entering 4th through 6th grades, this program offers an extended schedule from 9 AM to 5 PM. Campers will spend 3 action-packed days mastering core outdoor sports complemented with outdoor lessons, followed by a 2-day/1-night immersive overnight in the backcountry at Camp Blue Sky.

Path2 Overnights is crafted with intentional progression—alongside learning Avid core sports, campers will first build competence in outdoor fundamentals (gear packing, camp setup, cooking, and Leave No Trace principles), ensuring they feel prepared and confident for the overnight camping experience. This foundation empowers them to fully embrace the experience of backcountry camping at Camp Blue Sky, where they’ll connect deeply with nature and peers. Designed for all levels, the program balances skill-building with adventure, fostering resilience, leadership, and a lifelong passion for the outdoors.

Teambuilding

An increasingly popular sport, Stand Up Paddleboarding is a hit with campers of all ages. Campers will work on their balance on the water through a series of games and challenges. Our instructors will also teach proper strokes and rescue techniques.

Our flat-water kayaking instruction gives campers practice and confidence with paddling equipment and safety, getting them comfortable with the basics before taking on deeper skill building. Not to mention it’s lots of fun!

Whether they’re first-time bikers or regular riders, we get campers familiar with biking techniques, safety and equipment (plus some bicycle maintenance basics) out on local trails. Campers can bring their own bikes or borrow from our fleet, which accommodates campers of any size.

Hike into the backcountry site at Camp Blue Sky on stunning local trails, campers get out into nature and back to basics. They learn about flora and fauna and Leave No Trace principles as they explore and deepen their understanding of the world around them. Campers also will get the opportunity to explore and deepen their connection with fellow campers through teambuilding activities.

We take campers to natural rock sites where they learn the ins and outs of climbing techniques, equipment, and safety on climbs calibrated to their ability level.

Campers will get familiar with the equipment they need for camping—from cooking, cleaning and sleeping gear to camping basics like bear protocols and water treatment systems—learning how to set it all up, break it all down and pack it efficiently with Leave No Trace Principles. Campers will take turns cooking and cleaning up camp for the group.

Throughout the week, campers will practice important interpersonal skills like communication, problem solving and teamwork. Through games during downtime, stories around the campfire and time alone reflecting, they’ll build confidence and comfort within the group and as an individual.

WE TAKE SAFETY SERIOUSLY

While no outdoor adventure is totally risk-free, we work hard to keep your kids safe. Every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved -- what they are, how to prevent them, how to respond if something goes wrong -- so kids learn how to approach challenges with intelligence and skill.

OUR APPROACH TO SAFETY
