Rock Climbing Camp: Scaling the Heights

Denver Washington Park – Rock Climbing Camp

Our Rock Climbing Day Camp teaches campers climbing on some of the most iconic formations in the Denver area. Supported by our top-notch instructors, campers master the basics of climbing, knot tying, belaying, and rappelling as they ascend a variety of routes and rock types.

Campers take on activities designed just for them in teams grouped by grade—2nd – 4th graders make up our Skills Camp, while 5th – 7th graders join the Adventure Team—broadening their technical skills and conquering more challenging climbs as they gain comfort and competence.

Although there are no prerequisite skills or experience needed, rock climbing campers should have a desire to climb and learn more.

Climbing & Bouldering Technique

Equipment Practice

Authentic Climbing

Places We Go: Clear Creek Canyon, Morrison Cliffs, Tiers of Zion Crag, North Table Mountain

Campers hone their climbing skills through bouldering practice, learning the ins and outs of climbing safety and ethics, climbing commands, proper spotting, hazard identification and footwork and body positioning techniques.

Campers get comfortable with their carabiners, stoppers, camalots and belay devices as they practice equipment setup, traditional gear placement, identifying natural anchors, tying knots and using their helmets and harnesses at local crags.

Places We Go: Clear Creek Canyon, Morrison Cliffs, Tiers of Zion Crag, North Table Mountain

Every day, we take campers out to climb at some of the best crags, tackling a range of rock types, styles and levels of difficulty at renowned sites.

WE TAKE SAFETY SERIOUSLY

While no outdoor adventure is totally risk-free, we work hard to keep your kids safe. Every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved -- what they are, how to prevent them, how to respond if something goes wrong -- so kids learn how to approach challenges with intelligence and skill.

OUR APPROACH TO SAFETY
