Due to the limited group size, Camp at Home is a unique and customizable experience. On the first day of the program, campers will take part in planning activities with their instructor. There are very few time restrictions for activities, so if the group wants to dive deeper into one activity or cut another one short, our staff and campers are empowered to steer their experience in the direction of their interests and excitement!
Groups will spend time honing their skills through activities like expedition adventure planning, setting up shelters and practicing their navigation skills with a map and compass. Along the way, they’ll be assessing risk and understanding what it takes to be confident and self-reliant in the outdoors.
Campers will try their hands at cooking on a camp stove and also focus on outdoor-ready foods like trail snacks and other no-bake recipes.
Kids will explore the surrounding neighborhood on foot or bike. If parents desire, instructors can also suggest local parks or trailheads for camp to meet at throughout the week. We’ll cover basic biking and hiking skills and explore the natural world together.
