Please note that day camp staff and event staff are paid an hourly rate.  Camp Directors are paid a weekly rate.  The following scale is used as a guide; however rates are at the full discretion of the Staffing Managers.

  • Ethan Gillett Scholarship Fund
    • In 2016, we began a scholarship fund after losing one of our dear staff members that truly embodied the Avid4 Adventure mission. The fund honors his passion for the outdoors and continuous education. Each season, we award one of our returning staff with the tuition for an AMGA SPI certification course and one returning staff with tuition for a Wilderness First Responder course.
  • Specialized training certification reimbursement
    • Avid will reimburse returning staff $100/year on certifications for advanced climbing, paddling, biking or Leave No Trace.

School Programs run immediately after the camp season through the Fall each year. Full-time and part-time positions will be announced during the summer season and interested staff will submit an application. Pay rates for school programs staff may be different than an instructor’s hourly pay rate during the summer. The rates are based on the number of years that a staff member has worked in school programs, not with Avid in general.

Overnight Camp

Overnight Camp Compensation

Colorado Mountain Camp (CMC) pay, Avid4 Adventure’s summer overnight camp, is a summer contract that includes training.

The following scale is used as a guide; however rates are at the full discretion of Avid4 Adventure.

We have two CMC locations – our Windy Peak camp runs for 6 weeks and our Mt. Evans camp runs for 8 weeks. The ranges below are based on the location and include pre-camp training compensation.

Event Staff

Event Staff

In addition to our camp programs, Avid4 Adventure also attends events such as county fairs and festivals across Colorado. Typically, we bring our mobile climbing wall, kayak tank and mountain biking course to the events for kids to get a glimpse in to what we do at camp. Events typically run in the Spring and Summer and a large portion of the work is on the weekend.

      • In 2016, we began a scholarship fund after losing one of our dear staff members that truly embodied the Avid4 Adventure mission. The fund honors his passion for the outdoors and continuous education. Each season, we award one of our returning staff with the tuition for an AMGA SPI certification course and one returning staff with tuition for a Wilderness First Responder course.

    Overnight Camp Compensation

    Colorado Mountain Camp (CMC) pay, Avid4 Adventure’s summer overnight camp, is a summer contract that includes training.

    The following scale is used as a guide; however rates are at the full discretion of Avid4 Adventure.

    We have two CMC locations – our Windy Peak camp runs for 6 weeks and our Mt. Evans camp runs for 8 weeks. The ranges below are based on the location and include pre-camp training compensation.

    Event Staff

    In addition to our camp programs, Avid4 Adventure also attends events such as county fairs and festivals across Colorado. Typically, we bring our mobile climbing wall, kayak tank and mountain biking course to the events for kids to get a glimpse in to what we do at camp. Events typically run in the Spring and Summer and a large portion of the work is on the weekend.

    Please note that event staff and supervisors are paid an hourly rate. Event staff are paid an hourly rate.  The following scale is used as a guide; however rates are at the full discretion of the Staffing Managers.
