We value experience and certifications for our instructors. Some pay additives are added to your hourly rate. Others are paid as a one-time bonus per season. See below for more details.

Returning Staff

  • Adventure Grants
    • Each season, we award 2 of our returning staff members a trip to take an adventure to a destination of their choice. A few of the past recipients have gone to Australia, Belize and Japan!
  • Ethan Gillett Scholarship Fund
    • In 2016, we began a scholarship fund after losing one of our dear staff members that truly embodied the Avid4 Adventure mission. The fund honors his passion for the outdoors and continuous education. Each season, we award one of our returning staff with the tuition for an AMGA SPI certification course and one returning staff with tuition for a Wilderness First Responder course.
  • Specialized training certification reimbursement
    • Avid will reimburse returning staff $100/year on certifications for advanced climbing, paddling or biking.

Resident Camp/Expeditions

Avid4 Adventure has 2 resident camps in Bailey and Evergreen, Colorado. Our Bailey (Windy Peak) camp hosts 6th – 11th graders. Our Evergreen (Mt. Evans) camp hosts 2nd – 5th graders. Sessions range from 4 days – 2 weeks.

We run week-long Expedition programs in California, Colorado and Oregon for 5th – 11th graders.

International Staff

Avid4 Adventure is excited to partner with IENA and Camp Leaders to support J-1 visas for international staff! We pay a fee directly to these agencies that covers a portion of the cost for you to obtain your J-1 visa, which is why compensation looks a little different for international staff. There are some fees that are your individual responsibility, as well. During your interview, we will discuss the J-1 process and provide you with specific compensation details based on the position that interests you.
