Valmont Bike Park Private & Group Instruction

Valmont Bike Park Private & Group Instruction

Our Valmont Bike Park Private & Group Instruction offers kids an amazing outlet tackling the trails, jumps and features of Boulder’s world-renowned Valmont Bike Park.

Mentored by our experienced instructors, we meet your child or the group at their current level of ability and aim to progress their skills in all elements of park riding.  The park’s variety of challenges provide plenty of opportunities for bikers of all levels to build their technical abilities, while keeping even the most avid riders on their toes.

Safety is our first priority. While risk is inherent in all outdoor activities, we pride ourselves on teaching how to assess situations, use sound judgment and make good decisions while taking on appropriate risks. Please note that Valmont Bike Park programs involve a higher level of risk due to the terrain and skills taught.  We mitigate these risks by requiring protective equipment, providing environmental briefings, practicing falling techniques, and challenge by choice across all elements. Participants should be confident riding on two wheels (without training wheels).

Cost: $50/hr, with minimum 3 hrs, for the first participant. Add $50 for each additional participant up to 5.

Location: We DO NOT meet at the main entrance to the Valmont Bike Park.  The Avid4 Adventure meeting location is in the large dirt parking lot on Valmont Road 1/4mile east of the Airport Road and Valmont Road traffic light.  Once you enter the lot, continue straight and you will see the Avid4 Adventure meeting area adjacent to Valmont Road.

Participants can use their own bikes or rent a Specialized brand bike specifically designed for park riding for $15 per session. With a single brake, no gears, an elongated frame and a low seat, these bikes let bikers experience riding like the pros.

We require participants to wear elbow pads, knee pads and bike gloves. You can bring your own or borrow a set from us. Knee pads must cover the knee and shin, and elbow pads must cover the elbow and most of the forearm.

  • Avid4 Adventure is accredited by the American Camp Association and licensed by the Colorado Department of Human Services.

  • Our staff is all 21 and older and certified in Wilderness First Aid & CPR.

  • Valmont Bike Park staff are required to complete a specific Valmont Bike Park training.

  • We maintain a 7:1 camper-to-staff ratio at Valmont Bike Park.

While no outdoor adventure is totally risk-free, we work hard to keep participants safe. Every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved—what they are, how to prevent them, how to respond if something goes wrong—so bikers learn how to approach challenges with intelligence and skill.
