Adventure Camp Seattle, Bellevue - 2nd to 7th - Day Camp

Our Seattle Day Camp transports 2nd – 7th graders to local settings for exciting and fulfilling authentic outdoor experiences. Whether campers are brand new to adventure sports or already experienced in the outdoors, our instructors use time-tested techniques to support every ability level and build campers’ confidence. Every day brings a different adventure—mountain biking beautiful trails, balancing on a stand up paddleboard, hiking, paddling in a kayak or climbing a nearby crag.

Beyond developing their individual abilities, campers focus on teamwork, working as a group to navigate their surroundings, paddling in pairs on stand up paddleboards or helping each other transport and set up gear. As their technical know-how grows, so does their ability to communicate and thrive in team environments.

Through thoughtful guidance, campers develop the lasting skills, experience and self-assuredness to launch into a lifetime of empowering outdoor adventure. All activities take place in the beautiful Seattle area—places you can return to for a lifetime!

Jeff Jordan

As someone who spends much of my time outside, it’s important to me to protect outdoor spaces and teach other people how to do the same. We can only protect what we care about, so getting kids outside and active in their local outdoor spaces is an important part of educating them and teaching them how to care for their environment too. Every day I get to work with close friends, inspiring staff, and awesome kids. As a kid I went to a lot of soccer and basketball summer camps and took some memorable road trips with my family across the western U.S. To me, Avid mixes the camaraderie and inspiring role-models of those camps with the summer adventure and scenery of those road trips. I work in Denver Public Schools during the school year and have worked as an English Language Teacher in Tokyo. In my free time, you can find me skiing, trail-running, back-packing, mountain-biking, and canoe/SUP river trips. I love teaching kids that taking on challenges and taking risks are both allowed and encouraged. We learn so much when we’re not sure where something will lead us.

Why Sign Up For Multiple Weeks?

Do you remember that old TV show Blue’s Clues? It was the most successful kids’ show of all time. Do you remember that book that your child insisted on reading over and over again? How could you forget it? Why was Blue’s Clues so successful and why did your child NEED to re-read that book? Because repetition promotes learning, growth, and empowerment.

Based on our experience (and a bunch of brain science), we know that multiple weeks of Avid camp will benefit your child – it will result in greater skill development, increased self-confidence, higher levels of risk assessment/environmental awareness, and an improved ability to connect socially with others.

While no outdoor adventure is totally risk-free, we work hard to keep your kids safe. Every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved -- what they are, how to prevent them, how to respond if something goes wrong -- so kids learn how to approach challenges with intelligence and skill.
