Explorer Camp Santa Rosa - K to 1st - Camp On The Go

Our Explorer Day Camp which has a comfortable camper to staff ratio of 5:1 is built for young adventurers, ages 5 and 6 years-old, from the most tentative to the most intrepid. It’s a place where K – 1st graders are fully supported by our expert instructors as they start learning a host of exciting outdoor activities — hiking trails, paddling kayaks and balancing on stand up paddleboards. Throughout the two week session, every day is thoughtfully balanced by creative pursuits like yoga, art and music.

Under the guidance of our expert instructors, campers harness their hardwired curiosity as they strike out into the world of outdoor adventuring, figuring out what they love to do and building confidence in who they are.

Camp On The Go is similar to our traditional Day Camps. The big difference is, instead of meeting us at a local school, you’ll meet us directly at a local recreation area for a day of outdoor sports and activities.

*This session is two weeks long.

Why Sign Up For Multiple Weeks?

Do you remember that old TV show Blues Clues? It was the most successful kids’ show of all time. Do you remember that book that your child insisted on reading over and over again? How could you forget it? Why was Blues Clues so successful and why did your child NEED to re-read that book? Because repetition promotes learning, growth, and empowerment.

Based on our experience (and a bunch of brain science), we know that multiple weeks of Avid camp will benefit your child – it will result in greater skill development, increased self-confidence, higher levels of risk assessment/environmental awareness, and an improved ability to connect socially with others.

WE TAKE SAFETY SERIOUSLY

While no outdoor adventure is totally risk-free, we work hard to keep your kids safe. Every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved -- what they are, how to prevent them, how to respond if something goes wrong -- so kids learn how to approach challenges with intelligence and skill.

OUR APPROACH TO SAFETY
