Adventure Camp: Into the Great Outdoors

Stapleton – Adventure Camp

Avid4 Adventure’s Adventure Camp transports kids entering 2nd-7th grades out to authentic local areas for fulfilling, thrilling outdoor experiences. Whether they are first-time or returning campers, every day is a unique adventure—hiking a trail, mountain biking, paddling a kayak, canoe or stand up paddleboard— and each challenge is adjusted to their ability and age.

Campers are grouped by grade range and build skills and confidence upon returning year after year to our program. Kids entering 2nd – 4th grades focus on being comfortable when taking on new activities, along with receiving a substantial amount of support and inspiration from our camp staff and other returning campers. Once campers enter 5th – 7th grade, kids change their focus to mentorship, teamwork and expanding technical competence.

Guided by the best outdoor instructors available, campers establish lasting self-assuredness that launches them toward a lifetime of thrilling and nourishing outdoor adventure.

Canoeing & Kayaking

Mountain Biking

Stand Up Paddleboarding

Hiking

Places We Go: Barr Lake State Park, Cherry Creek Reservoir

Our flat-water instruction program gives campers practice and confidence with paddling equipment and safety, getting them comfortable with the basics before taking on deeper skill building in canoes.

Places We Go: Sand Creek Greenway, Van Bibber Park, Hayden Park

Whether they’re first-time bikers or regular riders, we get campers familiar with biking technique, safety and equipment (plus some bicycle maintenance basics) out on local trails. Campers can bring their own bikes or borrow from our fleet, which accommodates campers of any size.

Places We Go: Aurora Reservoir

An increasingly popular sport, Stand Up Paddleboarding day is a hit with campers of all ages. Campers will build their core strength as they learn to balance on their boards through a series of games and challenges. Our instructors will also teach proper strokes and rescue techniques.

Places We Go: Matthews Winters Park, Windy Saddle Trail

Our hikes get campers out into nature and back to basics teaching them about the flora and fauna they encounter and the principles of Leave No Trace as they explore and gain respect for the natural world.

Why Sign Up For Multiple Weeks?

Do you remember that old TV show Blue’s Clues? It was the most successful kids show of all time. Do you remember that book that your child insisted on reading over and over again? How could you forget it. Why was Blues Clue’s so successful and why did your child NEED to re-read that book? Because repetition promotes learning, growth, and empowerment.

Based on our experience (and a bunch of brain science), we know that multiple weeks of Avid camp will benefit your child – it will result in greater skill development, increased self-confidence, higher levels of risk assessment/environmental awareness, and an improved ability to connect socially with others.

WE TAKE SAFETY SERIOUSLY

While no outdoor adventure is totally risk-free, we work hard to keep your kids safe. Every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved -- what they are, how to prevent them, how to respond if something goes wrong -- so kids learn how to approach challenges with intelligence and skill.

OUR APPROACH TO SAFETY
