Kayaking Trips and Camps in Colorado
BRAND NEW IN 2010: 2-day PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR KIDS READY FOR AN ADVANCED KAYAKING EXPERIENCE
NO MORE THAN 6 KIDS PER GROUP, EXTENDED DAYS, & INCREDIBLE INSTRUCTION!
Have your kids already done the Avid4 Adventure Kayak Intensive? Are they ready to take their kayaking skills to the next level? Does your son or daughter learn better in an environment with fewer people and more individualized instruction? Are they seeking a longer adventure each day? Then the new Avid4 Extreme Adventure workshop series is meant for them (available in kayaking, rock climbing, and mountain biking).
Kayaking skills are taken to the next level with this 2-day program specifically designed for more advanced paddlers. In this workshop, kids will spend the first day honing their skills at a nearby lake and practice the kayak “Eskimo Roll” in a safe, supportive environment. The following day the kids will learn river safety, rescue techniques, and whitewater kayak skills while paddling one of the Front Range's premier moving water sections.IMPORTANT— Extreme Adventure participants should have previous flat or moving water experience. Although PFDs are always worn, participants should be competent swimmers and feel comfortable if momentarily submerged below water. Staff will be recommending certain campers for this program throughout the summer. If you have any questions or hesitations, please contact us directly to discuss at 720-249-2412.
DOES YOUR CHILD WANT TO GO KAYAKING WITH HIS FRIENDS OR FAMILY? If you gather 4-6 kids, then Avid4 Adventure will arrange a custom experience for you on a date that you choose. Call us at 720-249-2412 with questions or for more information.

This two day kayaking workshop is an amazing opportunity— such access and diversity is available in only a few places in the world. Learning the skills and awareness to kayak the unique waterways of the Rocky Mountains with an emphasis on safety and skill development is the foundation of our program. We provide all of the technical equipment and transportation as well as our own American Red Cross and American Canoe Association certified kayak instructors for 2 days of kayaking, fun and adventure. We will begin on flat water mastering whitewater skills and safety, including “wet exits” and the “Eskimo roll.” Then, the following day, we will move to a nearby river and develop the skills and awareness needed for whitewater kayaking.
